A First for the New York Subway
I was the lead designer for the MTA's new real-time service displays. These dynamic displays show accurate train arrival times, and predictive transfers, creating the most accurate picture of where a train is going that the MTA has ever been able to offer.
I created early design concepts, consulted with the MTA's Office of Accessibility, and performed UX research including rider interviews to develop the initial designs for the screens.
In July 2020, these screens were the main topic of an MTA press event to showcase the new screens and what they could do.
Version 2 Designs
After feedback from riders, media, and advocates, I began work on the second generation of designs, with an emphasis on creating a modular system for additional screen elements.
These "V2" designs are undergoing testing as of Fall 2020, and will roll out with the "1.0" release of the information screens.
